GFF grantee Kohl Children Museum and it Pop-Up Museum are back in Round Lake. The Lake County Journal discussed its opening in its article, “Pop-Up Museum to open in Round Lake Beach.”
The Kohl Children’s Pop-Up Museum will make its return to Round Lake Beach at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center, 2007 N. Civic Center Way.
The Pop-Up Museum will be open to the public for free every Tuesday through Saturday from June 23 through July 24, except July 4. New procedures limit admission to two groups of nine people per one-hour session. Times are 9 to 10 a.m., 11 a.m. to noon, 1 to 2 p.m., and 3 to 4 p.m.
This year’s Pop-Up Museum will include favorite elements from past appearances, including Imagination Playground building blocks, children’s art studio, and reading nooks, as well as two new exhibits making their debuts at this location: Young Paleontologists, which explores fossils with real field equipment inside a naturalist’s tent, and Tech Play Lab, where one can create and problem-solve using programmable robots.
